Ever since I can remember I've ate, slept, and breathed fishing. I was lucky enough to grow up just up the road from Wilmot Creek and gained access from all the neighbors with property to fish as a kid. Also growing up we have had a family cottage on Big Bald Lake in the Kawartha's. As a child I fished for panfish off the dock at the cottage and small rainbow trout and brown trout at the creek. As I got older I started catching bigger game fish like Crappie, Bass, Walleye, Musky, Migratory Rainbow trout and Salmon. As a teenager I learned that Migratory Rainbow Trout are in the rivers 9 months out of the year and that's where it became more of an obsession than a hobby.

While the rivers are open from fall thru winter I'll be fishing them. My favorites are Bowmanville Creek, Soper Creek, and Wilmot Creek. I've also started fishing bigger water like the Niagara River, that's where I fell in love with the 17ft Streamside and I actually got asked from Kype Magazine if he could use a picture of me in the gorge with the rod bent in its full glory.

Now from spring to fall I can be found fishing Crappies at ice out, to pickerel, to musky, then to Bass. Once Bass season starts it's go for me. Either pre fishing for tournaments or fishing tournaments. I've been fishing tournaments with the same partner (Steven Jenkins) now for 6 years. Our first year we placed 4th in a Top Bass event on Balsam Lake (2007). The year after we won Balsam Lake. The following year we had many top ten finishes one being 2nd on tri lakes and 8th in the Top Bass Classic, and we were also awarded Team of the year for being the most consistent team that year.

In 2010 we also had multiple top 10 finishes and one including a 1st place finish on the 2nd day of Rice Lake with our biggest weight to date21.34lbs. We also finished 2nd overall and lost team of the year by a quarter of a lb. And for 2011 we again had a few top 10 finishes these including 1st place on Tri lakes day 1, 6th place tri lakes day 2, and 2nd place in the Top bass Classic on Tri lakes. The tournaments just mentioned (all Top Bass) the only rod I used was a Streamside 6'6" medium heavy. As much as I am a bass fisherman, I'll always be a steelhead fisherman at heart and I truly believe a lot of my tournament success comes from two things. A great fishing partner and using what I've learned steelhead fishing and applying it in the boat for all other species of fish.
