Stu has been fly fishing since the age of 10, during his fly fishing career he has appeared on television, radio, and as a casting instructor for the movie industry. Stu has done seminars across Canada and the U.S. and is a freelance writer with articles appearing in American Angler, Canadian Fly Fisher, and other regional magazines.
He believes any fish can be caught on flies and has developed techniques and flies to do so. His signature pattern, the DDH Leech, has caught 80 species of fish including trout, Bonefish, Tarpon, Snook, Permit, Pike, Channel Cats, Carp, and Walleye. His favourite fish to pursue is big Pike but he is not averse to chasing huge Channel Cats.
Stu also does custom tying and has sent flies across Canada and the U.S. and to Australia, France, Belgium, England, Scotland, Germany, and New Zealand. In his spare time Stu also guides for Channel Cats, Carp, Freshwater Drum, and Smallmouth Bass.
